It would help us to build a more accurate picture if you would specify what type of paper had been used to cover the signs up while you're here.

In some ways it's surprising that they haven't temporarily replaced all the seat covers in whatever moquette thingy they're using at the moment. Maybe the TfL brand has a finite pot of money to be spent on it after all.

They could start by removing the massive Chiltern Railways logo on the side first ;)

..and yes, I appreciate the sarcasm :P

Travelled on the hired Chiltern DMU tonight. It was working the 17:50 from Gospel Oak - Barking.

I hope the Chiltern commuters who have to stand between High Wycombe/Beaconsfield and Marylebone don't get wind of this unit being hired to LOROL. I am aware one Chiltern 172 is always diagrammed to stand spare all day so it doesn't really make any difference but the commuters won't appreciate that point.

Aside from not having facilities to empty the tanks, I highly doubt Chiltern would appreciate the mess the toilet would be in if it was allowed to be used in service!
TfL have high standards of customer information provision? :) The stickers aren't massively expensive (I bought a full-size Victoria line map for £1) and if they have some spare why not use them? :)
Where on earth did you buy that from? <D

Probably from either the LT Musuem or LT Museum at Acton Works? Theyre usually flogging stuff like that over at Acton.

172102 was parked round the back of Willesden shed yesterday (19th). Does that mean it's no longer needed by LO or just taking a rest?

I usually see it parked up at Willesden as you describe most times that I'm travelling in and out of Euston. This is because, as swt passenger detailed earlier in this thread:
Yes, because it is normally the on-call spare unit.

They do something similar on the ELL in the morning peak, using units that then become hot spares for the rest of the day.
It was detailed near the beginning of this thread that it is usually only booked to work one short peak diagram, and then acts as the "hot spare" for the rest of the day.

Actually it was on a 67 stock tour where the Victoria line stock went all the way to Uxbridge and Ealing Broadway and back! :P It's an actual line diagram as used in the stock.

Unfortunately I was disappointed to find that on the Museum website:

a) The prices are ridiculously expensive for line diagrams
b) The printing isn't as the official ones, just printed like all the other posters so I presume won't be the right size/have the sticky backing on it!
