Central Scotland Rover- validity shrunk?

Having purchased a Central Scotland Rover online a while back I checked the Abellio ScotRail website to see if the validity was the same.

''Edinburgh to Glasgow''. And there's no map anymore.

I paid £24+£39.90 in advances for this and I find this rather alarming that's it's apparently only valid between Edinburgh and Glasgow now.

Or is this rubbish?

I wondered about this ticket too, now that First Scotrail is, as the Proclaimers would say, no moa. The link is still live on NRE:

First ScotRail and First Glasgow are joining forces to offer a new through ticketing opportunity from Partick to Glasgow Airport, via the Southern General Hospital, Ikea Glasgow, Braehead Shopping Centre/Xscape and Renfrew Cross. It will offer rail travel on services to Partick, with onward travel on First Glasgow service 747, as well as in the reverse direction. Add ons to rail fares will be: To Glasgow Airport: Return £4 Weekly Season £20 Monthly Season £75 To Southern General Hospital, Ikea, Braehead/Xscape, Renfrew Cross: Return £2 Weekly Season £10 Monthly Season £36. Returns can be compiled with SDR, CDR, SOR, SVR and SSR. Child tickets are available at 50% of adult price. Other railcard discounts are applicable to the rail element only.

As from May though the 747 is being replaced by the new 77 service. Which is due to the opening of the new South Glasgow Hospital and this service will now run every 10 minutes as opposed to the every half hourly service at the moment.

It does seem disappointingly that the validity of this rover has been reduced since Abellio took over the Scotrail franchise. This is the reply I received from Scotrail about whether the rover was still valid for travel on the Fife Circle, to North Berwick and Dunblane. Edinburgh to Glasgow and intermediate stations seems to be the new area.

I can advise that the Central Scotland Rover gives you unlimited travel on ScotRail services between Edinburgh and Glasgow, including intermediate stations.

I have used the rover in Fife, and to Dunblane in the last week or so without any problems.
