Just seen Mary Portas on a VT to Stockport. Just wondering who else has spotted a celeb whilst on their travels.

Bet a few on here have been travelling on the same train as a certain ex-Tory MP who happens to have his own TV show ;)

I sat opposite Jimmy Savile once from Leeds to London but I'm not going to tell anybody.

I've seen loads of well known people on trains especially from London when I worked there.

Bob Monkhouse, Chris Moyles, Barry Cryer, Ricky Gervais, Lord Longford, Michael Howard, Charlie Dimmock, Alan Pardew, Mary Quant, John Arlott, Craig Cash, Wayne Sleep, Eric Idle, Emma Thompson, Jack Dee, Joss Stone, Peter Gabriel, Wilbert Awdry and son Chris, Norman Cook + Zoe Ball + about 20 kids. etc. etc.

I had breakfast with Pete Waterman back in 2009, the day he met Lord Adonis during the noble Lords pilgrimage of grice.

Paul Atterbury off Antiques Roadshow and a noted railway author.

Asked a blind passenger to move out the seat that was reserved for him. Fair enough but it was an empty first class GNER carriage.

Ouch must have been awkward to witness that!

Craig Charles at Euston last Christmastime. Not a very happy chappy, transpired though he would be willing to sit on the floor while waiting for his delayed train!

Not necessarily on a train, but close. Princess Anne walked past me at Paddington today having arrived on a HST from Cheltenham.

So we have Anne the Tram basher, Charles the Skip ned, and Queen Elizabeth starting to clear 365s!

I was on the "Last A Stock" with Howard Collins - in the same carriage and everything ;) - and had a very nice long chat with some senior Metropolitan Line staff.

I've also been at London Victoria and seen various famous actors from TV shows including Silent Witness and some of the news programmes, plus I was on the Northern Line today and ended up standing near a comedian who has had supporting roles in a number of BBC shows... but I can't remember her name!

The other week I came across Michael Mosley filming just outside Russell Square Tube station.

Also, several years ago I came across them filming EastEnders at Waterloo (when the Eurostars where still there), so I stood and watched, along with a load of other people. There was Michael French and one of the female members of the cast; I forget which.

Don't think I've seen any myself, but my parents once allegedly saw Jimi Hendrix on a train in South-East London!

I always thought that was just for the cameras, sort of her trade mark type thing.

I suppose we should be grateful they didn't use a tricky camera angle to make it look like the squad were squeezing into a Class 153 dogbox!

Radio 5 Live presenter Sam Walker on a SWT service into Waterloo from Chessington South, otherwise I've seen more celebs on buses in London than on the train.
