'Celebrations' Train

Hello everyone,

It's been a good few years since I have posted on this forum, but I was wondering if you could still assist me with something?

I'm looking for some information on the Mars 'Celebrations' promotional train. Specifically I'm interested in knowing what coaches were used in the rake, I understand they were Mk2s but which ones? Also, if you have any photographs of the train you would be up for sharing I would be most grateful, unfortunately Google doesn't yield great results with only a handful of photos being available.

In terms of the traction power, I know 47627 was used. If my understanding is correct it was an EWS locomotive?

It was indeed an EWS locomotive and carried a base version of their livery (maroon with the EWS logo on the cabsides) with the Celebrations branding on each side.

lol. Bounty coach hooked off! the exhibition set used just empty shells in side most seats removed but could be set up with display stands and similar.

To add some detail to the identities listed above:

99663 - Formerly Mark 2D FO 3194
99664 - Formerly Mark 2D FO 3189
99665 - Formerly Mark 2E TSO 5755

I suspect the rake will have also included 99662 (Formerly Mark 2D TSO 5689) and 99666 (Formerly Mark 2E FO 3250), as these were also converted at The Railway Age, Crewe, at the same time as the others during 1996.

Plus the Mark 1 BG (Brake Gangway) needed to provide a brake compartment, although it might have been used for storage. I doubt that it was used for exhibits as the BGs were utilitarian inside.

Cheers, was the BG branded the same as the rest of the rake?

The “BG” had same graphics as the Loco, the celebrations Logo rather than dedicated to the individual choc brand
