Are Merseyrail now the only operator to allow Cheap Day use before 6.30am? (Avantix Code Y7).

I also wonder if they may use the simplification oppertunity to remove this easement?

Additionally they will no longer issue platform tickets

you can check if the code is still in use on evolvi. just search for a date on or after 8 september.

london midland are introducing restrictions on savers in the area eg. Liverpool to Crewe is now after 9am. which is a fare increase due to simplification so a lie from ATOC.

Down on the SouthEastern, cheap days to London are only available if you arrive in London after 10am.

thanks for the tip with evolvi. seems they are still valid... restriction code is Y7, but there doesn't seem to be any specific information about it, even in ATOC NFM. Ticket is valid on some services, but bit confusing... nvm.

take it Merseyrail are the only operator that allow CDR use in the early morning, tbh I can't see why you couldn't buy CDRs in advance and use them during the peak, worst that can happen is a RPI to excess you to a Anytime Day, u cant get a penalty fare because of a ticket restriction... Merseyrail are appauling with tickets, most seem to think that they can't issue anything outside the Network :roll:

All day Saturday and Sunday

I've never seen it before, certainly didn't sell them when I was with ICEC, but there are also CDR tickets between Glasgow and Carlisle

after speaking to Merseyrail today, I am informed Y7 means:

Valid by any train, except for services departing Merseyrail Northern/Wirral line stations between 06:30 and 09:30 inclusive Monday - Friday. No Saturday/Sunday restriction on use.
