Hi All,

Does anyone know the speed limits of China Clay CDA hoppers at the time of their introduction in 1988?

Isn't the CDA just about identical to a HAA or HDA hopper, except with a cover over the top?

You'll probably already know but HAAs are 45 mph loaded and 55 or 60 mph unloaded, depending on the upgraded brakes and suspension.

This is where I got the info from, and it looks quite comprehensive. Not sure if there is an e-mail address, someone from that group might be able to help you further.

Sometimes documents come onto eBay which have these details on, think they were part of an advertising set used by BR. I had some which hold details on things such as VDAs but can't remmeber off-hand if it had CDAs or not.

I'd also seen that website, with lots of good info but very good of you to share the link. Might be worth trying to get in touch with them.

Many thanks for your help. :)
