Is there any particular reason why London Northwestern Railway use the “Close door” indicator when dispatching at Euston (rather than just using a bat/torch)? Do any other train operators use it at Euston?

CD can be for the guards as well? I believe it is used by the LNR guards, and it is also used by London Overground drivers, at Euston.

Yeah, I’m just interested if there’s a reason why the CD is used because surely the dispatcher has to use a bat/torch for the train safety check complete signal?
