Update re: the case. I just instructed a lawyer and quashed it before it got any further out of hand. I understand it's a more costly route but oh well, worth it for the peace of mind personally.

When you say "quashed it" what do you mean? Did the solicitors negotiate an outdoor of court settlement for you?

It's good to hear you have resolved this in a way that has brought you that peace of mind.

Of course don't feel you need to answer this, but people often come on the forum asking about using a solicitor, so if you were able to give a rough idea of the fees you paid for legal help, and perhaps mention the name of the firm if you found the service helpful, as it might be of help to others in the future who look over your thread.
