Castleton-Ashton ticket confusion

Just been speaking to my cousin on Facebook.

He has just bought a 7 day season from Castleton to Ashton from the ticket office at Manchester Victoria (he had a ticket from Castleton to Man Vic anyway, dunno why but he wasnt travelling without a valid ticket) and is claiming he has been charged £5 more for the ticket than if he bought the same weekly season from the machine at Castleton.

Trying to find out more info but any ideas?

According to NRE the weekly season is £27.90 with no mention of validity at peak and/or off-peak.

The only weeklies I know of for that journey are:

Castleton - Ashton Under Lyne = £27.90 (train only)
Castleton - Metrolink Zone N = £36.30 (tram only Victoria-Ashton)
GM Traincard = £29.70 (tram in city centre only)
GM Countycard = £36.30 (tram in city centre only)

Can you find out what they have and what they actually asked for?

Hmm. One of his friends claiming they paid £25.70 two weeks ago. Will need to get more info I think but I reckon hes getting mixed up between the £25.20 Cas-Man V ticket and the £29.70 one mentioned above.

EDIT - turns out his friend is getting mixed up between the two so chances are my cousin has too. Shall see what else he says, he must be in work hence no further info.
