Castleford - Manchester via Doncaster

I am travelling to Manchester later today from Castleford but need to pop to Doncaster first

Returning Manchester to Castleford tomorrow but that'll either be direct (or rather rail to Wakefield then rail replacement to Castleford) or via Leeds

Will the £29.60 Castleford - Manchester Off Peak return be valid throughout? Need flexibility so can't use advance tickets

A Castleford-Manchester ticket isn't valid via Doncaster.

The simplest option would probably just be to get a Castleford-Doncaster return and a Castleford-Manchester return. There might be a cheaper option than that but I can't immediately find one.
