Cashback - season tickets?

Hi,

I'm about to buy a season ticket (annual) this week.. In the region if a good few ££££.ss.

Does anyone have recommendations of (I) cash bask websites etc, which may soften the blow, or for that matter, experience if credit cards etc, which would offer cash back.

Season tickets are excluded from cashback on Quidco/Topcashback for all rail ticket vendors.

If you could provide details of your commute we might be able to find a cheaper ticket combination

I use a Santander 123 Credit Card (paid off in full every month) to buy rail tickets as I get 3% back. However the limit for travel related cashback is £300/month so assuming you could buy the ticket within the credit limit the most you'd be able to get is £9. Whether it's worth it or not is up to you?

Incidentally I couple this card with Top Cash back to use redspottedhanky so I roughly get 5.5% back including RSH points but alas does not apply to season tickets.

There is an AMEX card that has 5% cash back up to £100 for spending in the first 3 months (£200), then it's a different rate.

I recently got my season tickets on this and I'm planning on closing the account soon once I have the cash back. Not sure if I can post links or not but it's called platinum - everyday credit card.

Why close it? You would still get some cash back next year, although at a lower rate, plus some other benefits you don't get elsewhere.
