Hi after some best fares advice please.
Based in Liverpool.
Want to do a circular trip from Lime St, to Carnforth, over to Leeds or Bradford and back to Liverpool on a Saturday
I've looked at rail rovers but none really cover it, unless I get to Preston.
Any ideas for the cheapest way of doing this please?
Appreciate any help so thanks in advance

Can you get hold of one of Northern's day rovers issued in conjunction with a local paper?

Only one train each way Preston Lancs though!

This will be the cheapest way to do it if you can get tokens for the day ranger (see the special offers thread for details). Although you're stuck to northern services obviously.

Even if you don't make the one Northern service between Preston and Lancaster purchasing a separate ticket between the two stations on top of the ranger is likely to still be the cheapest option.

There are two Northern services between Preston and Lancaster on Saturdays, it's just that the evening ones are too late to be of any use to you.

A return from Liverpool to Hellifield would do the job (valid out via Lancaster and back via Leeds) and is very flexible as to the trains you can use, but it's not cheap at £47.
