Carlisle to Retford Via Newcastle

I have a Carlisle to Retford SDS any permitted route valid today.

Just to check am I ok to break journey in Newcastle then take the following route-

Newcastle to York (EC)
York to Retford (EC)

Yes, you can always break your journey on an SDS (Anytime Day Single).

Via Newcastle is a permitted route for this journey.

Thanks for that Cuccir- wasn't getting the EC website to offer the exact itinerary as evidence so just wanted to check it was a valid route.
