The same fares also apply from Armathwaite, Langwathby, Lazonby, Dalston Cumbria, Wigton, Brampton Cumbria and Wetheral, but if anything that just makes it more confusing. You'd think it should be route Newcastle rather than route Carlisle. Carlisle to Drem has a set of fares routed Lancaster which is another strangeness in that area.

Due to the fares rule Carlisle to Drem Route Lancaster would only be valid Carlisle to Lancaster direct and then shortest route from Lancaster to Drem not doubling back through Carlisle which if I have worked it out correctly would only be valid via Settle, Leeds, York, Newcastle and Wallyford (on the few Scotrail services from Dunbar to Wallyford). Certainly Lancaster to Leeds is only Settle as any other route is more than 3 miles longer. Leeds to Dunbar is only valid direct so straightforward. Dunbar to Drem you'd think would be valid doubling back via Edniburgh but now the Scotrail services stop at Wallyford and no easement has been issued to allow via Edinburgh (more than 3 miles) presumably Wallyford must be used?

Dunbar trains stopping at Wallyford? When did that start?

With your above Lancaster to Drem routing do you mean Hellifield not Settle?
