Hello,

Any ides to what has happened to the Carlisle to Chirk timber runs on Saturdays and Sundays because it has been weeks/months since it has last run and wondered what is going on? Normally full of logs on the Saturday working from Carlisle to Chirk and the return journey that goes via Wellington (Shropshire) or recently via Crewe through Wem running around the train at Shrewsbury is empty.

Any information would be appreciated.

The weekday train has run every day in the past week. Maybe there is insufficient demand for the Saturday train?

This.

The Saturday train only operates at time of high demand and/or when one of the weekday trains is unable to run for some reason.

...so there's a possibility that it may run next Saturday due to the strike on Wednesday.

Ah right ok. I know it runs during the week often but didn't realise there wasn't enough demand for the weekend workings.
