Hi folks

Despite being almost a month ahead of travel date there don't seems to be any reasonably priced advanced fares. Wondered if anyone had any pearls of wisdom please?

Cardiff to Nottingham 18th Feb around mid day
Nottingham to Cardiff 19th Feb also around mid day
No railcards
1 Adult fare

Thank you in advance

Just look from cardiff to nottingham, the cheapest advance is around £26 for a train at midday which seems well priced considering its a 3 hour plus journey.

If travelling on the 1145 from Cardiff you can get it for less than £20 by splitting Advance singles at Ashchurch and Birmingham New Street. On the way back I suggest splitting at Birmingham New Street and Cheltenham, which comes in around £22.

Going via Hereford and splitting at Cwmbran and Birmingham using walk-up tickets would cost you £59.60, rather more than advance tickets but with the flexibility to pick your trains on the day.

Takes a little longer than the route via Gloucester, though.
