I think the best bet would be to buy a Quail Atlas for the appropriate area.
These are available at Railway Bookshops or by sending away.

I recall that the line connecting Ninian Park and Grangetown is known as the Penarth curve, as it allowed TVR coal trains from Radyr to access the Penarth Docks while avoiding Cardiff Station.
Beyond that, are you after junction names, receiving line names, or something else? Along with Quail Maps, Network Rail's sectional appendix may be of some use, depending on what you're after.

The four lines next to Canton wash are Down Barry, Up Barry, Down Barry relief and Up Barry relief. The two lines that curve around Canton (toward Ninian Park) are the Up Treforest and Down Treforest. The Up/Down Leckwith branch line links Ninian Park with the Mainline.
The five lines on the Mainline next to Canton are the Down Relief, Down Main, Up Main, No.1 Up Relief and No.2 Up Relief.

There was a clump of sidings known as the "Garden Sidings" - from memory at the Grangetown End. Now decommissioned I believe.
