i didnt think 158s ran down to devon?
SWT 158s sometimes turn up at Exeter St Davids but overall FGW 158s are fairly uncommon in Devon. They don't even operate the Cardiff-Taunton services any more.
Are FGW 158s only seen on the Cardiff - Portsmouth service, or do they do anything else?
The Cardiff-Paignton train seems to always be 158763 at the moment. Seen it turn up by itself, with another 158, with a 150 and with a 153. It's a bit of an odd service but it's usually formed of at least a 158.

And since 2007/2008, one of the few services that operate into devon with FGW 158s...
Oh yes, the most definitely do.

The service was Class 67s and MK2s from it's introduction in December 2009 to late 2010. For a while it was a pair of Class 150s and recently it has gone over to 158 operation. It's the only daily service booked into Devon operated by a 158. Another visits on Friday night but leaves early Saturday morning, and only gets as far as Exeter.

Fair enough, I assumed they'd all gone over to 150 operation!
Yep
Though what i meant by:

Is of course, since the interfering and micro managing by our beloved DfT, Exeter depot & Devon & Cornwall sees very little 158 use anymore - bar the Cardiff Paignton diagram, whereas 5/6 years ago would have seen for instance...
Of course for a period in 2006/7, many Devon local services were 158 operated. A terrible use of the units, but they were nice and luxurious compared to the 142s used now.
