'Card type not supported' on SWR TVMs

Has anyone experienced the above error on SWR TVMs whilst topping up an Oyster card with a Chase Debit card on Google Pay? Ive reported it to SWR but it seems weird as its just a debit mastercard.

Sure I remember Chase cards posing problems a few years back as the processing technology behind them is different. Can’t remember any of the details, though.
