Car camping rail watching locations.

As a recent convert to Car Camping I am looking for somewhere preferably near the West Coast main line that I can spend a 24 hour period watching trains however finding a location is proving elusive. Would anybody on here care to share a location with me ? Happy for you to direct mail me me if you do not want to give away all your favourite places !

Where do you go to the toilet?

Casey Lane, south of Crewe, where freight enters/leaves Basford Hall.

A685 laybys along the Lune Gorge. You'll be fed up with the motorway noise before long though.
The declassified ex-A74 from Moffat to Abington. Great bike route.

I assumed it meant getting to a "proper" campsite by car (rather than public transport and/or walking.) For that there is one right by the WCML somewhere between Carnforth and Oxenholme, I've had a quick search but can't see it.

Polesworth station has space to park up facing the line with a view of all passing traffic. No staff and only one train per day calling. But it's in a residential street, so the locals might take exception.

There are camper van spaces in Carlisle Castle Car Park right next to the WCML. £4 for 24 hours, but the car park is locked between 8pm and 6am so you can't leave between those hours.

They're quite used to train spotters. The platform is accessible 24 hours and allows for quite good photos.

Be aware that local children play in the street. So if you do go onto the platform, please make sure the gate is closed properly behind you.

I'm not 100% sure if this is in the correct area so I do apologise if it is. Recently [Mon 24th June] I went out to Acton Bridge to photo and note various freight workings lineside near Chapel Lane/Old Lane, although the day went rather down hill to lack of working but also a Bridge Strike...

So looking at South or Crewe locations I seem to have three - Acton Bridge ( beware locals !), Polesworth and Casey Lane.
Are there any more ?
