Canterbury to Manchester

Evening Guys,

Anybody know a way of getting Canterbury to Manchester cheaper than the straight-through walk up fare?

Travelling Monday evening (yes, this Monday!) after 5pm and back down south late morning/early afternoon on Wednesday.

With a YP railcard please. It's for a student, so cheapest fare means everything.

The normal advance tickets (without any splitting) look quite good.

Monday - Canterbury West (1925) to Manchester Piccadilly (2311) via St Pancras, Euston & Virgin is £26.05 standard class or £28.70 first class

Wednesday Manchester Piccadilly (1255) Canterbury West (1638) via Euston Virgin & St Pancras, is £20.80 standard class or £28.70 first class

Great Escape tickets can be used all day at weekends or after 0930 on weekdays, although no restrictions apply within the Network West Midlands zones 1-5 or on southbound journeys between Liverpool and Crewe on any day. If you're travelling to London from stations north of Rugby, you can also use the 0833 Crewe-Euston train. Customers from Rugby (0904), Nuneaton (0917) and Atherstone (0923) can also travel on the train that arrives into Crewe at 1038. If you are travelling from London Euston between 1600 - 1900 in the week, you will need to pay a supplement of £5 per person (£2.50 child) before boarding the train unless you have a 1st class ticket which has no evening restrictions. This supplement will be available from ticket offices when you buy your ticket, at the LondonMidland/ Virgin Trains ticket offices at Euston before you catch your train home or from the conductor on your train to London.
