Apologies if this is the wrong forum but ...

I am having problems logging in to my SWR account (which I've had problem-free for many years).

I've become used to having to use ReCAPTCHA to log in - again no problems, until now. The ReCAPTCHA device has disappeared from my log-in screen but when I try to log in, a red message appears that I need to use ReCAPTCHA - but I can't as it's not there.

I've tried changing my password and opening a new account with a different email address - but each time I get the same message and no means of fulfilling it.

Can anyone explain and help?

Many thanks.

Have you tried a different web browser or device? Some ad and script blockers can prevent captchas from loading (though they shouldn't).

Also check if you have a work VPN connected, possibly try disconnecting that, as it may also block some content.

In a similar vein to that, try a different network. If you're normally on home WiFi try it on mobile data or vice versa.

Ultimately a question to direct towards SWR though.

If you use an Apple device with iCloud subscription, it may be the case that you have to "Show IP address" to bypass Apple's own web traffic encryption for the SWR website. Otherwise I'd try @styles suggestions above.

Many thanks for these replies and apologies for delay in acknowledging - I didn't realise the thread had been moved.

I'll try the different options and see how I get on.

I have emailed SWR Customer Services, got an automated acknowledgement but no substantive reply yet.

Thanks again.

Update - I've tried all the advice given above, no luck. I've also had a 'holding' response from SWR customer services, possibly a human? and am awaiting further guidance. Getting tedious ....

Have now receive replies from helpful humans in SWR customer services. After supplying information about my computer set-up, I was informed that my laptop ReCAPTCHA problem is a "known issue" and that it is being worked on, however with no target date for resolution. Meantime various possible solutions were offered - including those mentioned here e.g. clearing cache. None of these worked! I was then advised to use the app on my phone rather than the website on my laptop - this does seem to avoid the ReCAPTCHA problem but as far as I can see I am not able to order TOD tickets on the app, which is my preference. SWR's answer to this was to use Trainline! In summary, SWR have been responsive but the problem continues indefinitely. Thanks again to all who gave me advice earlier in the thread.

You should be able to order TOD tickets via the app. I don't usually do so, but I use the SWR App a lot and the option always comes up.

I've had a quick look at the app. It is rather silly in that where it asks you to choose "ticket delivery" it also has the words "e-ticket". If you ignore that and hit that link it will show a "collect ticket" option.

If that doesn't happen then it could be that you are too close to the departure time. I think it switches off the TOD option when it's less than 1 hour before departure. In the past, when that's been the case and I'm after a flexible ticket, I've fudged the departure time to be a later one. That's not failed me before, but there's always the risk that the comms to the TVM is on a go-slow!
