Will Cannon Street Underground station open on Sundays once some services which currently run to Charing Cross are permanently diverted there from December 2014?

Doubt it. They didn't open it for the Saturday services until at least a year after they started running. Apparently, no-one from national rail had told tfl about the Saturday service.

That is intention. The last I knew, Southeastern were communicating with TfL and London Underground with the hope to open Cannon Street seven days a week, to 'align with an extended opening' (something like that). Whether SE can persuade them or not remains to be seen, no official confirmation of 7 day opening yet I don't think.

It would be pathetic if they didn't but this is something that would benefit SE London & Kent so expectations of it happening are low.

When did Saturday trains to Cannon St start out of interest?

IanD may be talking about when there are weekend engineering works affecting Victoria or Charing Cross and Mainline is diverted to Cannon St as a result.

Cannon Street LU will open until close of traffic on weekdays and weekend opening will include Sundays from 14 December.

As the City now has a big shopping centre and more cultural events on weekends, and people work and drink later the slow pace of change in opening hours is surprising.

Thanks for clearing up the Saturday question all!

Another one: I remember visiting Cannon Street back in 2008, and I'm sure at that time the front of the station was used as the booking office etc, however this is now used as office space since redevelopment, and the booking office has shifted back into the station concourse. Can anyone confirm this is the case, or have I got confused with somewhere else?
