Where do you stand on refunds if you book after the strike dates listed and choose later not to risk travel? Are you only eligible if you booked before the dates?
If the RRB is operating and it misses the train connection how do you source taxis if station staff are on strike?

I had similar occurrences with suspected bad weather where RRB were not being laid on so curtailed my out journey and spent a couple of months getting a refund are the strikes causing similar?

What makes you think there would be a RRB? That does not usually happen when strikes occur.

Well maybe not a bus but the passenger has a right to be conveyed to their destination or put up in accomodation for the night if the service doesn't operate to the published timetable of the day. The railway's anti passenger clauses surely must cut both ways sometimes, no?

During industrial action no alternative transportation is provided. Unless it happens to be a pre arranged replacement covering existing planned engineering or other works.

You are entitled to a full refund without admin fees. Alternatively you can use your tickets the day before or a few days after the strike. Booking of advance tickets for strike days has been suspended.

The published timetable of the day will be the very heavily cut back strike timetable - for some routes this is no service at all.

Related question. Is the railway liable for alternative transport if you are unable to board the last service *in* the published timetable of the day, say in the case of severe overcrowding because of the significantly reduced service?
