Are these the empty tunnels that I can see from the north end of the Thameslink platforms?

Yes they are, they come out on the ECML, just where the NLL go's over the top,i will walk them when i'm down there again

They are tunnelled under the Regent's Canal - that could be a clue...

I think they're named after the Regents Canal, which they run under between St Pancras and the ECML.

They aren't canal tunnels, they're Canal Tunnels

Dumb question, do these tunnels provide grade seperation off the Thameslink Platforms northbound? Also, look nice there, pretty well build, would be nice to see them when fitted.

Yes. The down tunnel has a noticeable downward gradient as it swings away to the left from the main route.

Hopefully i will be involved in wiring the tunnel's, its going to be a few years yet.
The route from the tunnels to St Pancras Int is blocked by new signals,Loc boxes,Fsp boxes,concrete channels.
And the OLE round there will have to be completely rewired, it will require to be either built up as it is about 2/3 feet lower than the current track
