Can you Sell Sleeper Bargain Berth Tickets?

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and this is my first post.
I managed to get a cheap sleeper bargain berth ticket from London to Scotland, but may need to cancel the complete journey. Would it be possible to sell on? It's just that I ticked the box to state my credit card as identity, so do guards really ask to check this?

It's not permitted to resell any railway ticket (with rare exceptions).

I don't know how often ID is checked on the sleeper, but for other "e-ticket" options (East Coast, CrossCountry) it is checked reasonably often. I wouldn't want to travel without the correct ID by any means.

(Unofficially, selling to friends or family at face value is not going to get you into trouble - selling on a public forum will do. Places like eBay will kick you off if it's detected).

I would be careful if you do decide to, because I'm pretty sure the tickets have your name and other details on them. Also berths are paired up by gender, so selling it to someone of the opposite gender is a definite no no!

Yes, I would only pass ticket onto another female as I am aware of the same sex policy.
Passing onto friends or family is a good idea, especially if family member has same surname etc.
