Can trains turn round at Greenhithe?

While doing some RTT surfing in relation to some late night engineering work operations, I discovered that on Monday this week, a late-running Victoria-Gravesend train was reported to have turned round at Greenhithe instead. This came as a surprise as I can't recall any turnback capability existing there. The nearest turnback options are Dartford, which is often used in late-running situations, or Northfleet, normally only used when Gravesend is closed for engineering work. Therefore I'm wondering if it's possible it turned round at one of these but RTT couldn't pick it up?

I don't know about this particular train but I have seen Elizabeth Line trains just vanish from RTT when diverted into the terminus platforms at Luverpool Street

Quite possible. If the train was shown as cancelled at Greenhithe, then the RTT feed may not pick any further movements up.

The train did continue to Northfleet and cross over to the Up line to return back to Greenhithe.

Thank you for confirming. Did it run empty over that section? If it did I wonder how effective this would have been compared to turning round at Dartford, given the train would have to have been searched and manually locked by despatch staff to run on empty.

Looking at the information, the passenger headcode ghosted forward, as opposed to being shown as an empty stock move.

I would suggest the turn round at Greenhithe was to mitigate for the delay and try to return nearer to the timetable, as opposed to running through to Dartford.
