Can I sit the assessment centre again?

Hello,

I sat stage one of the assessment centre in 2018 with virgin. I passed all tests to the National standard but not to Virgins enhanced standard. I sat another centre earlier this year, passed stage 2 but failed on one question on the interview. Because I passed the first assessment centre to the National standard does that count as one try even though I failed to virgins enhanced standard? Thanks in advance for your reply‘s!

You should have at least one more go. However it's all a bit grey and many people post different opinions to these questions. When I did all my test's and with what has happened to people I know , here's what I get from it all. You get two shots at the test's. If you fail to national , you get one more go at national. If you pass to national but not enhanced , you get one more go at enhanced. If the second go fails to national , then it overwrites the first national pass . As you passed the first time to national and not enhanced , you only lost an enhanced life and not a national one. Your post seems to suggest you didn't get to do the second day , last time. So if you didn't get to do the interview ( mmi I assume ) , then you should get one more shot. Also to note , is that it is becoming increasingly likely that tocs can have different enhanced levels too . In my opinion , you have at least one shot left . Personally I would contact the opc to clarify and I hope you have another chance. Good luck.

I agree with @baz962 in that it’s a bit of a grey area. What is clear is that you will have at least one try remaining. The waters are muddied when we talk about people who have failed two attempts but only at enhanced standard etc.

I don’t think we’ve ever definitively established whether or not you can fail twice to enhanced standard, but pass to the national standard, and because of this, have other goes to gain the enhanced pass? Or whether there are lives at enhanced level in the same way as there are Omar national standard, meaning only two goes at passing?

What I think is clear, is that if you pass to the tests to the national standard and then attempt the enhanced standard with another TOC or FOC, if you subsequently fail to meet the national standard again, your initial pass is overwritten and is now a fail.

Yeah the problem is now as you've failed the second time you don't have a pass anymore as its overwritten but you've definitely got 1 more try available

That's one of the bits that I call grey . Would this particular fail , overwrite the original pass. We know that if you pass to standard and then on a subsequent attempt to enhanced you fail to national , then it does overwrite the original pass. The difference could be here that the second day could just be an extension of the first day and only the mmi needs to be re taken. I think it's only the opc that can confirm. Edit to say that it seems the op didn't originally do day two.

It’s what I’d define as grey too. Not sure we’ve had a definitive answer? One would have thought it’s only the MMI that needs retaking?
