Can I get An Adaptor For this ???

Hi Guys
I was just wondering Can I get An Adaptor that will allow me to play my VCR & my standalone DVD player on a PC Monitor ? & possibly a free view box too

I rang a local Branch of Maplins & the Girl there Did not have a clue

You can hook um up via your PC if you get a TV card or audio/video thing.

Quite - if you do get a TV card, you must check what inputs are available. Most nowadays are still RF so you need to ensure you can output video and audio out of your DVD/VHS in RF.

No I should have been clearer I wanna use the Monitor Stand Alone

What inputs does it have? I presume DVI and VGA? What outputs do the DVD/VHS have?

Whilst adapters are available to connect certain outputs from a DVD or VCR to a computer monitor, they are all quite complicated and therefore expensive. Converters are available for SCART, S Video and Composite to VGA but all seem to be in the £50 price range. Conversion to DVI seems similar.

Quality is also quite poor.
A decent upscaler is in the hundreds not the tens sadly.

One alternative is to use a Tv capture card on a PC, but you said that wouldn't be possible.

Many Digiboxes (telewest for example0 have a DVI out which will feed to a PC monitor with DVI in. Many newer monitors also have a composite input for a normal DVd etc signal.

It is if you already have the monitor in some respects I'm afraid.

The main issue is to do with screen flicker / refresh rate and the differential splitting of the signal.
