Can Anyone Help...?

I would like to know if anyone can tell me why approximately once maybe twice a month, at no particular time but usually between 00.00 and 02.00 I hear what I assume to be a 47 or probably 57 go up my line in the early hours.

I can hear her climb the bank by at which point it obviously too late to do anything, although I am only accross the road.

By-the-way, I live on Blackall Road, Exeter, Devon between Central & St. James station.

Does anybody know when I can expect to see the sleeper, (I assume) go up this line again so I can head out and get some video.

Any help much'ly appreciated,

Think it runs most sundays that way. It did last night.

Indeed it did run last night, but I don't re-call every Monday morning, chances are i'll go out every Monday morning from now on and wait for her, then the night I decide to stay in, I'll hear her coming, always the same...!

this a few times in the early hours but didn't know what it was.
Didn't even know the sleeper ran up this way, Learn something new

So how come it runs this way on Monday mornings, Due to engineering works on the other line?

Well I, like you didn't know what it was but kept hearing it every so often until I saw it one night by luck...

I can only assume that you are correct in saying that they send up the 'Waterloo' line when the 'Paddington' is being worked on, or for whatever reason...?

I guess that would be the only logical reason to send it that way...

I've heard this sleeper good few times in the small hours, Mid week I've
heard a few things go though stupidly early, Possibly sleepers?
As none of the SWT's go through at the time, last one is around mid night.

Wouldn't mind going down to see the Sleeper like your self think it passes me some time at about 1:45ish, don't fancy waiting about long at that time of night :roll:

As you mention it, I do hear other stuff go through, sometimes its un-doubtably a freight of some sort due to the heaviness of the sound...

Likewise I wouldn't mind heading down one night to catch the sleeper.

I guess it would just be a case of 'pot luck'...

haha 'wander off anywhere!' made me laugh, it's that unpredictable 'eh?

I knew they had signalling and line problems in the night but I didn't think it was that bad!

I think it sometimes goes via Westbury and sometimes via Bristol
