Can an Advance ticket be amended more than once?

A friend paid a £10 admin fee to amend the date of travel on a First Advance ticket and was then given an excess coupon plus a new accompanying seat reservation. They now realise the new date is unsuitable. Question is, can the date of travel be amended again, presumably with another £10 fee?
