I see that a campaign has been launched to restore Caerleon station just north of Newport on The Marches Line.
Trying to get in or out of Caerleon by road is most awkward and the town could certainly do with a station - both for the locals and for making it easy for tourists to reached the Roman remains.

Train station call in Welsh town where traffic is a nightmare
Newport Council has backed calls for a railway station in Caerleon, east of Newport, despite the town not being included in the Burns Commission's recommendations
"People living in a quaint Roman town in Wales are generally behind a move to reopen an old railway station there due to a traffic nightmare, a council meeting has heard."
