Cambridge to Liverpool Street

Travelling midweek, off peak, Cambridge to London Liverpool St.
One adult, with senior railcard plus one child. NR shows return of 15.95; 13.95 plus 2.00 for child, yet when connected to AGA (and others) only fare is 24.50; the child fare is 10.55. Can NR advertise a fare which cannot be bought or am I missing something?

The £2 child seems to be a special AGA offer - but I too can't work out how to buy it. Only at a station??

I suspected that it may only be available at the station, but with Cambridge station so chaotic at the moment, I feel I would rather pay the extra amount than face the queues there.

There is a cheaper fare (£17.90 for two) if you can travel later in the day - but I suspect you've already seen this. And maybe some advances if you can commit to specific trains

Just discovered similar post by James H yesterday, from which I can see 2.00 child fare only available as a walk on fare. Still do not think NR should advertise this fare and follow it with a buy now facility which is misleading.
