I'm probably going to need to do this journey (single) on Monday 13th July (any time, but not particularly early in the morning or late at night). I have a 16-25 Railcard.

I'm keen to do one of the following:
- go as cheap as possible (almost certainly means advance ticket(s))
- go First Class on Virgin - this looks like £23.70 minimum London - Frodsham plus £12 or so Cambridge - London (and I can walk between King's Cross and Euston)
- make a day of it and take an interesting route! (I'm not in a rush!)

For option 3, are there any valid routes that people would recommend? A brief look at the routing guide indicated that via Sheffield and via Wrexham (W&S?) are valid, which would be interesting! Any other suggestions to make it a worthwhile trip (without spending too much!)?

Or can anyone beat my best price? I can do £7.95 + £4.60 = £12.55 splitting at Wolverhampton of all places!

Not an expert on fares and such

If you're after FC on a pendo, you'd want one from EUS to Manchester OR Liverpool.

CDRs to Frodsham are £6.65 and £3.55 from Manchester and Liverpool respectively
