I might be travelling between Cambridge and Oxford fairly regularly, potentially at peak times. There doesn't seem to be an anytime return or off-peak return on that route, but I found that for off-peak return, I can do Cambridge-Tackley (or any station up to Banbury) for £60.10 (I have a 16-25 railcard) and for anytime return I can do Cambridge-Hanborough (or any station up to Kingham) for £92.55.
Does anyone know of a better alternative?
I assume that with both those tickets, I can travel on Great Northern, Thameslink and Greater Anglia between Cambridge and London, and on GWR and Chiltern between London and Oxford (plus on Cross Country and Elizabeth Line). What I do wonder, is if I can also travel via any of the Thameslink stations in central London - this of course wouldn't be very time efficient, but would save me a few pounds if I need to be at London Bridge for example. Plugging that route into a journey planner gives the same ticket, so I'm assuming this should work.
I also assume that just like on a regular Cambridge-London ticket, I can travel via Stansted Airport.
