Cambridge - Heathrow

Hi,
I'm looking for advice on how to bring down the cost of getting to Heathrow, given that I need to get the first train on a Monday morning(!)
My flight is a BA one at 0845, terminal 5. I have hold luggage to drop, so I need to do that by 0800.
If I get the 0454 from Cambridge, I make St Pancras for 0559
At that time, Piccadilly Line to T5 is every ten minutes- I can easily make the 0610 from that and be at T5 Underground at 0710. Excellent. Plenty of wiggle room. Not much benefit time wise in using HEX.

Return I get into Heathrow about 2020 on a Saturday so there's no real time issues with getting a late train back home.

What's the cheapest way to do this? I have a Network Railcard, but that's of no use on the way out (it is not a bank holiday)

I'd get a Cambridge to London Terminals Anytime Day Single for the outbound journey costing £26.50
Use PAYG on the Underground and Heathrow which will cost £3.30 each way (off peak fares apply if you touch in before 06:30)
For the return on the Saturday a Network Railcard discounted Super Off Peak Day Single from London Terminals to Cambridge is £12.40
Total £45.50

You can save £4.30 on the way home if you use Greater Anglia on the way home as they have Weekend Super Off Peak Day Single tickets costing £8.10

Alternatively a Greater Anglia Super Off Peak Day Travelcard for £12.60, which means you can use TfL Rail from Heathrow and/or the Victoria Line to Tottenham Hale

The 04:48 from Cambridge to Liverpool Street, arriving 06:03, tends to have advances available for £16. That would save another £10 and you'd still be in time for the Off-Peak Oyster fare.

The 04:48 from CBG calls Tottenham Hale at 05:48 from where you could get the Victoria Line to Finsbury Park, thence Piccadilly Line to Heathrow.

oh that could work- perhaps even changing at Green Park (not as convenient, with luggage, but manageable) given that the Victoria is quite a bit quicker (best part of five minutes). With Piccadilly every ten minutes that could make a difference?

Edit, it could, but I'm safer still taking the £10 hit and going to St Pancras
