Yes, agreed with both of those.
Herringbone parking has many, many advantages, not least reduction of accidents as it's really easy to drive in forwards and reverse out, and it makes it really awkward to drive the wrong way round the one way system so people won't. I don't quite know why we don't see more of it, but its provision outside MKC station is just about the only thing that's right about the layout there.
Back to talk of trams, however, and it would have an advantage there, too, because the angle can be adjusted to ensure there is enough width for a tram (or bus) to pass.
