Call through wifi not functioning correctly

I have an odd issue with calling through WiFi and would appreciate any suggestions.

I have a Galaxy A32 5G phone. My home broadband is Plusnet and the router a Plusnet Hub Two.

The phone connects to the WiFi and operates correctly for browsing running connected apps etc.

However despite being toggled on in the phone settings it is not doing call through WiFi. It did however do call through wifi when I was logged on to public wifi on a visit to the local hospital and it functions correctly at my partners home in her wifi.

Clearly the issue is something to do with my home wifi but I don't know what.

Any suggestions?

I dont have any experience with the A32 but it may be that at your home the phone believes that it has sufficient mobile signal not to switch to wifi. Some phones/ networks have to ability to select a preference to use wifi over the mobile signal but not all. I volunteer as a Digital Champion for Kent CC, wifi calling along with digital voice are the bane of my life in a rural area.

Tried playing around. In Egremont the phone signal, certainly with three, is not the best, strongest is 3g. Can tell it connect only to 3g but can't force it onto 4g.

Your idea of course makes sense. I am sure you are on the right lines.

Well following paul1609s post I did some more specific searching and have now sorted the issue.

If anyone else has this problem then try this.

Turn on Airplane mode
Turn on WiFi


This stops the phone trying to connect to the phone network and so forces WiFi calling.
