Hello all,

I am developing a system that allows you to choose a route between stations A and B and then looks for possible split ticket savings on that route. It's pretty basic at the moment, but needs some testing.

So, I'm looking for a handful of experts who may be interesting in beta testing this system so that I can get it as tight as possible prior to release.

If you're interested and are a regular on this forum, would you send me a PM please?

Thanks.

Interesting, I wouldn't class myself as an expert though.

Would this be a program? If so, would it run on Linux?

I'm quite good at BETA Testing. What parts are you looking for?

Security?
Design/UI?
Usability?
General Error Hunting?

I'll make it clear on the opening page of the web site. Probably all of the above :D

Sounds interesting.

Where is the fares data coming from? If it's the Advantix database, I don't think you're allowed to use it for non-personal use.

Will it incorporate peak/off-peak fares for a single journey (e.g. where part of the journey is peak, part off-peak)? Come to think of it, will it understand ticket restrictions?

So many questions!

Will it understand the routeing guide?

Even NRES doesn't seem to be 100% sure...

I'd rather not say - but I *HAVE NOT* reverse engineered Advantix.
Spliiting peak and off-peak is a huge challenge. At the moment, it can't do that, but no doubt there's a way...

Urm - as well as anyone can. I've given the user the option of how aggresively it should interpret the routeing guide.

Interesting, you haven't reverse-engineered Avantix? Screen-scraping? But that would almost certainly be glacially slow...

I wanna see!
