All very accessible...at least by foot. We had a rental car so didn't want to take it to far in so parked up on the side of a dirt track and walked to a hot spot known as "Hill 582".

Many people have off road vehicles which help as they can go pretty much any where.

This maybe of help if you are thinking of going...

Fantastic photos. I was at Cajon Pass last year (see http://smu.gs/NfWnxb for the photos).

I hired a Jeep (also features in the above link) and drove it right up to Hill 582. The road is poor in places but just take your time and you'll get there.

I spent about 40 minutes at Hill 582 and saw several freights pass. Great spot! Would love to be back there.
