The attendant I had was more than happy to let me look and it was quite shocking how empty it was (one passenger to Crianlarich and two to Fort William)

What time of year was this?

Euston - Fort William
I expected it to be much busier

Which begs the question why was I unable to get a trip for me and the lad for less than £200 at about this time? Maybe this is why it was empty.

Incidentally, the Night Riviera is booked into Penzance at 08:59 on Mondays, but the through train to St Ives leaves at 08:57. I presume that as it's single track for the first couple of miles in practice the sleeper must arrive a few minutes early to allow it to get in first. Can anyone confirm this as ideally I'd just like to leap across to the unit (it's a cross-platform connection) and head straight out to St Ives?

St Erth - Penzance is double track AFAIAA :)

If you book a solo cabin on the FGW sleeper there is a volo TV :)

I do agree but I suspect FSR limit the discounted fare types on the Fort William (sleeper) to just one
Therefore once it has been sold, all fares thereafter are full price
A similar quota applies to the seats, but it seems to be in the same proportion as the Inverness
Hence why the online system tends to throw you onto the Edinburgh or Glasgow sleeper

It's almost as if First would like to run the FTW sleeper into the ground....
