Due to the derailment at Bletchley and OHL incident on the northern section of Wcml, Caledonian Sleeper have tweeted that the 23:40 Euston to Glasgow/Edinburgh service will now depart at 22:40.
All line block is going to be taken tonight between 00:01 - 05:30 to re-rail the train.

Early this morning, both 1M11(Glasgow/Edinburgh to Euston sleeper) & 1M16 (Inverness, Fort William & Aberdeen to Euston sleeper) were both berthed in platforms at Rugby. A while later, 1M16 had departed for its destination. Even later, 1M11 became 5M11 and had left for the Wembley depot. Were the passengers from the Lowland Sleeper transported to their destination by another train or a bus? I can't find any information relating to this.

Looking at RTT 1M16 didn’t stop? Or if it did, was for a matter of seconds.
As for customers off 1M11, most likely travelled forward on Avanti.

Thanks for both replies. Mon-Fri 1M16 usually stops at Rugby to allow a faster service to pass but not on Saturdays, as per Realtime trains.
It did appear to have stopped briefly - when I looked again it was on its way south.

Utter carnage last night.
Both Northbound Sleepers terminated at Crewe, the Highlander was 2.5 hrs late at the time.
Southbound Highlanders all terminated at Waverley.
Southbound Lowlanders terminated at Carstairs.
OHLE lines down between Lockerbie and Carstairs.
Staff say that major disruption is expected until the end of the day and a do not travel warning is in place for the WCML north of Preston.
I got off the sleeper at Waverley and headed back home rather than face a packed Azuma.

Bloody hell I was supposed to be taking the sleeper from Central tonight straight after the Iron Maiden gig. Been planning this trip for months!
It's all looking on time for later. Can never guarantee there won't be a person hit by train, derailment, etc mind.

Does anybody know what caused the delay to the Caledonian Sleeper last Tuesday evening? It got into Fort William 97 mins late the following morning

What's delaying 1S25, is it loco issues?
On dispatch from Euston we crawled then stopped, before departing properly. Though I know there's multiple reasons that could have happened.
Woke up outside Crewe and we were 15 late. Sat at Crewe for half an hour with another attempted departure that ground to a halt. AC went off twice at Crewe
Slept most of the way between Warrington and Beattock, was woken by the train stopping at Beattock. Now stopped again at Abington, with no AC again.

Had a text message confirming a locomotive issue caused the delay, I'm currently on the Fort William service which is 35 minutes behind, but depending how the passing places line up that might increase or decrease

1S26 also seems to have had an issue. RTT shows that is had a trouble-free run to Carstairs, arriving at 06.16 but not continuing on to Glasgow - This service was cancelled between Carstairs and Glasgow Central due to a problem with the traction equipment (MB). RTT also shows that 1B26 ran formed by the full 16 coach formation, departing Carstairs at 07.28.

TM on my train said 1S25 was struggling, and 1S26 failed completely, so the whole Lowlander was sent to Edinburgh.
Sounds like a bit of a chaotic evening for CS!
At Euston tonight 3 coaches out of service tonight due to no air con. Sleeper fully booked
2 coaches for Inverness
1 coach for Fort Wm.
Passengers to be put in hotels and travel north in the morning.
Pretty grim on what could be the hottest day of the year tomorrow and lots going on up and down the country.

This happened to me a few weeks ago on the Aberdeen portion. To be fair to CS customer support they were superb. Confirmed that i could travel the following day on East Coast or West Coast FOC (certain trains) and gave me an automatic refund for my sleeper booking. Also refunded my hotel cost in London for the night on production of the invoice. The EC line is a nice journey during the day but the downside is instead of arriving in Aberdeen around 07:30 in the morning i didnt get there until 17:15 and effectively lost a day of a short break.
I trust you had a limit what you could spend on a hotel and couldn’t go to the Renaissance at St.Pancras for example even though that was probably closest to Kings X

They didnt set a limit. I booked into the NYX in Holburn for aboyt £234 which was paid without question. Even Premier Inns in London at short notice can top £200.
Can confirm that I've spent a little over £270 on a hotel in Mayfair when LNER had to cancel all services one night. Paid without question.

Perhaps the delay to 1M16 of 25 minutes indicates that they have had to leave 73966 behind? A single 73/9 should manage at this time of the year.

RTT indicates that 66739 has been switched from the Fort William portion to the Inverness portion this morning, working with 73967, with Fort William just 73970 and Aberdeen 73969.
EDIT: 66302 has been reallocated from the Fort William to North Blyth Alcans to operate the Fort William portion this evening.
