Don't know why, but 1S25 has missed its 'slot' between Aberdeen and Inverness so is losing more time.
Would I be correct in thinking that, while the Inverness sleeper (1S25) is diverted via Aberdeen, it will be running in the path of 1A25 as far as Aberdeen and Aberdeen passengers will be travelling on 1S25?

Not correct, 1S25 has its own path and will not be conveying 1A25 passengers, its only book passenger stop North of Edinburgh is Dundee, further stops are scheduled at Aberdeen to change drivers and then crossing points at Huntly, Forres and Inverness Airport.

Thanks for the clarification.

The Dundee passenger stop is to allow transfer to/from a coach for Perth and Highland Main Line stations.
Is that the case even when the train itself is carrying on round "across the top" to Inverness?

Take a look at the map and timings. If they waited until Inverness to transfer the passengers, they would be extremely late.

I should have been clearer: when the Inverness portion is planned to run via Aberdeen a coach meets that portion at Dundee with passengers from the intermediate HML stations, i.e. Carrbridge (sometimes Aviemore only) to Perth. Likewise in reverse for the northbound Inverness portion.
That is the reason for the Inverness portion stopping in Dundee.

Accepted it's a bit different for a last minute alteration as road transport via A9 may not be an option if the reason for the diversion is bad weather.

Quick question, how busy does the seated coach get on Monday nights in January/February in the Edinburgh > Euston direction?

Not sure on the cause, but appears 1M16 Euston bound is sat at Carlisle and has been for just under 2 hours now… weather related or traction issues?

92 failure, around 140 late at the moment.

The NB Fort William is 85 late as well.

I don't know if this has been answered already but with the Fort William and Aberdeen only running alternative days for 4 weeks in Jan/Feb where does that leave those in West highlands who maybe rely on that service to get to work in Fort William etc? Do they have any rights to complain about that? Does alternative transport need to be provided as it is technically a pick up service.

1S26 approaching 2 hours down just after Rugby, in a queue of a few freight trains on its way north due to bi-di working on the Trent Valley due to the landslip issue around Polesworth/Atherstone, and an incident in the Northampton area involving 9M62 which is also around 160L at the time of writing.

When the Northbound Lowlander runs at this delay, does it all carry forward to Glasgow or can the split still be undertaken at Carstairs?

They can still split at Carstairs but they get caught up in day traffic, sending the whole lot to Glasgow is problematic as its too long for the platforms so they'd send it all to Edinburgh instead if they were not going to split.

1M16 well over 100 late as well. Looks like an absolute shambles again last night.

1M16 is late waiting for the Driver off 1S26.

During my time (over 8 years ago now) 1S26 did occasionally run 'full train' to Glasgow Central, usually when it was so late that there was no Driver at Carstairs for the Edinburgh portion. IIRC only 1 platform (11?) could take the loco plus 16 coaches, and once the loco for the ECS to Polmadie was attached other routes were blocked.

During your time? Did you work for the sleeper? Obviously you don't have to answer that 8-).

Yes, sending a load 16 to Glasgow is very problematic and Network Rail try to avoid it when possible. It causes issues for the crew as well as I think the ASDO system must be overridden to allow a full door release. As you say it also blocks routes when the drag back loco is coupled on.

Its much easier to send the whole lot to Edinburgh as the whole train can easily be accommodated on platforms 11/7 but this of course does require some shuffling of ScotRail services in Edinburgh.

I do love the sleeper updates. I usually go on traksy or rtt and see how they are getting on.

The only problem is after midnight I can't just put in 1s25 as it will give you the next service and not the present.

Are there any other ways to track their delays. I know it's sad but coming off of long term meds I sometimes struggle to sleep through the night.

Looks like they did in the end split at Carstairs as normal instead of sending the whole rake to Edinburgh?

On RTT, just select the previous date, location and time then click detail mode on the train.

Just go on real time trains, you can open a tab for each service if you like and just refresh the services you want to keep an eye on.

Traksy isn't as reliable as signalling data North of Edinburgh/Perth/Dundee is not great

5M11 was also 94 late into Glasgow Central. Another 92 issue to go with Sunday night, Monday mornings carry on at Carlisle with 92 028 failing

Yeah that's a shame you get no live data from Inverness.
If it ever gets re signalled you'll get data but not right now. You do get data from Moy loop to Kingussie and a little bit from Blair Atholl to Pitlochry.
