If rare track is your thing, you get the the link from the WCML to the North London Line (either at Willesden or at Primrose Hill, from RTT it looks like the latter), the "North London Incline", and the York avoiding line. If you're on the Lowlander you also end up the wrong way round.

Inverness is calling me I'm doing the sleeper to Glasgow & out of Aberdeen next month (and again in December out of Glasgow Post the last direct KGX>GLC LNER service) its just in the waiting for pay before I book again,

Could someone explain how most trains are delayed at Euston but 1S25 seems to just pull out on time.

Do you mean the Down (Northbound) Fort William? The Up (Southbound) train won't get anywhere near Dundee.

EDIT: What's the bomb threat at Dalmuir?

That will be interesting since the crews don't sign with it being freight only, at that used to be the case.

It's not freight only in the Down direction....Lumo services use it.

But the CS is hauled by a freight loco and driver, so it's only the conductor, unless they hire one from Lumo which I think use that line

Route learning's also possible - LNER managed it for Christmas 2022 diversions. It's not as though it's far or especially complex.

I believe they are only a small outfit so it may not be as simple as sending guards route learning when theres services to cover.

Thats a ridiculous way to route learn imo, especially since the sleeper runs at night, a dvd filmed during the day would be useless.

Another cancelation last night. This time it was the NB Lowlander service.

And the SB highlander is currently well over an hour late.

Another cancelation last night. This time it was the NB Lowlander service.

That cancellation was probably due to an operational incident occurring on an adjacent line, which meant the sleeper stock had to be detained in a line block.

Think there may be slightly more to it than that but I wont post what I was told as it could be wide of the mark.

I imagine the investigation is going to bring up all sorts of info, but the sleeper stock was not one of the trains that collided, it happened to be a bystander.

tonight’s Caledonian Sleeper services from Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley to London Euston have been cancelled.

This is because of an operational incident at the depot which has forced us to remove the trains from service.

My mistake, seeing further posts upthread issue was last night on the journey to Scotland that has now kneecapped the return into Euston,

Is there a thread with info on the other stock involved in the "operational incident"

CS had a mk5 coach derail in the shed at Wembley on Thursday. Rest of the train extricated from the shed and whilst awaiting the signal to depart Wembley depot. Two Pendolinos collided heading into the depot. One ran in to the back of the other.
Stopping the job completely and the sleeper unable to leave the depot.
