Caledonian sleeper priv

Hi everyone.
Does anyone know where to book the caledonian sleeper to Scotland using priv rate?
I tried the rstl website but it says sleeper trains cannot be booked using priv rate?
Anyone booked this before and know the best way to do it?

Just tried a booking for Glasgow on 12th October and it quite happily offered me a berth-inclusive ticket for £58.75.

Various things to be aware of:

• Priv discounts aren't valid in seated accommodation on Sleepers (except between Kingussie and Inverness, and Edinburgh <-> Fort William, as they count as daytime services between those points)
• For the Caledonian you can only book a discounted Club cabin (with en-suite shower and toilet) if you've got a First Class Priv
• If you're travelling with someone who doesn't have a Priv card you either need separate cabins or you have to pay the full public price.
• Priv reservations are only available from 12 weeks before travel

Hi, can I just ask where you made this booking. I assume it's somewhere that's only available to BR staff as I get TFL retired staff privs and I don't think there's any way I can now do it online. I used to do it on the sleeper website using a special code but that was withdrawn due to misuse.
I always get mine without any trouble at king's Cross booking office but you may have to wait a minute or two for someone who knows how to do it.

That was from the Rail Staff Travel online booking site, which isn't currently available to TfL staff I'm afraid. As such, your only option is likely to be a Ticket Office - excluding ones run by Avanti, as I don't believe the Ticket Issuing System they use (TTK Avocet) can handle Sleepers.

Thanks very much, that's what I thought. Kings Cross ticket office is always very helpful. I'm a bit reluctant to try using a local station as I'm a not sure whether they could do it and even if they could it would probably take ages. And I know how I feel when I'm trying to buy privs and someone is taken a long time. Much easier to just do it when I'm up in London.

Bit like Safeguarded staff trying to renew a priv discount on Oyster - in theory any station can do it, but its pot luck finding a member of staff who knows how to or can be bothered!

I didn't think the RSTL site allowed Sleeper bookings - it just directs you to contact Caledonian Sleeper

RST Online Leisure Cards (issued to Network Rail staff) aren't valid on Caledonian Sleeper services.

Assuming you hold a Rail Staff Leisure Card (your posting history seems to indicate you're a New Entrant at a TOC), tickets can only be booked up to 12 weeks in advance. If the RSTL site won't let you make bookings, it might be worth trying a ticket office.

It's allowing me to book finally but as you said up to 12 weeks.

I booked a priv sleeper to Fort William at the Avanti office in Carlisle a few months ago.

Granted, I don’t know what kind of TIS they use there.

I stand corrected. The system in question has obviously had an upgrade since the first roll out on West Coast.
