Well, it's all looking really clear...
I passed through Liverpool Street yesterday and the 2T railcard leaflets were still the old ones (as were the Seniors), but just checked the 2T website and saw this new bit...
Two Together Railcard discounted tickets are accepted on Sleeper services, providing you board the train before 0430. Discounts are not available on Sleeper berths or travel/berth inclusive tickets. (My bold).

1/3 off Caledonian Sleeper services when boarding before 4:30 later on!

The Senior Railcard website quotes savings on
Caledonian Sleeper dedicated tickets: Standard Sleeper Seat, Standard Sleeper Berth (Twin), Standard Sleeper Berth (Solo), First Class Sleeper Berth

Made dummy booking enquiries for next year and was given no discount for 2T other than seated but for Senior was given no discount on two sharing at £255, yet was given discount on two separate berths for £277.20!

The wording reads to me like it is the train that is reservable, but not a specific seat within it. A bit like a "specific connecting train" booking on an advance where the connecting TOC doesn't do seat reservations but you can reserve to travel on a specific train.

That isn't what's happening - you get a seat reservation in Coach S if buy a Fixed Seat Adv ticket.

Strange – just made some real bookings for next year and there were discounts available for Senior and 16-25 Railcards on everything I looked at - still are today for the dates I booked a couple of days ago, though some of the cheaper less expensive Advances have gone.

By playing around with the dates it seems to change from 25/2/18. Until then you can get the usual discounts as "Standard Class" shared berth then from that day it changes to "Classic Shared" with no discount.

...even though the new stock won't be ready for Feb?!
