Evening all, would anyone happen to know which loco will work 1S25 tonight please.

Thanks in advance.

1S25 Highlander from Inverness to Edinburgh will be 67007, it went up there with the stock from Polmadie.

All of the electric locos in Scotland are at Polmadie, so which of them does the Highlander is anyones guess at the moment.

Options are 92010, 033 or 043.

Ignore that above and see TimboMs response, I got my headcodes mixed up:oops:

Regardless, 1M16 Southbound Highlander from Inverness will be 67007, it took the stock up from Polmadie today after the Hogmanay shutdown. Electric loco from Edinburgh is a choice of 92010, 033 or 043.

1B01 from Fort William is set to be 73971, no guarantees that it'll do the Northbound to Fort William.

1B16 from Aberdeen is set to be 73967, same warning as above for the Northbound.

1C11 from Edinburgh to Carstairs is either 92010, 033 or 043. Empty stock for this (5C11) should go over with 2 locos (one for 1M16 and one for 1C11), whatever one of the three's left at Polmadie should do 1M11 from Glasgow.

Thanks ScottDarg but I was actually referring to the 2115 off Euston.

Thanks
Bennybob
Will still be 67007 on the Inverness portion (if that's the way you're going).

Loco hasn't gone into Euston yet, so not sure which it is, but if they stick to the rotation pre-New Year it would be 92018. Other options though are 92014, 90042 and 90049.

Deviating from tonights allocations, there are a couple of paths in for Saturday and Sunday, presumably for the Aberdeen stock to head down to Polmadie.

5Z25 09:15 Aberdeen to Polmadie Car M.D. on 06/01/18:
http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/K97609/2018/01/06/advanced

5Z16 18:44 Polmadie Car M.D. to Dundee on 07/01/18: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/K97604/2018/01/07/advanced

Aberdeen portion (1B16) is starting from Dundee on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th of January and the 4th of February due to engineering works.

As such, the above paths may run for the next few weeks, but no guarantees.

Wind gusts in excess of 50mph (as a result of storm Eleanor) forecast to hit Southern Scotland and Cumbria in the early hours - fingers crossed for the first CS sleepers of 2018!

5C11 only one loco on it tonight upon arrival at Edinburgh, 92033.

Odd that the working to Dundee is going straight in without a visit to the yard first for the loco to run around and reverse in.

Also strange to be showing platform 3, which is the shorter of the two terminal platforms. I’d expect it to be a tight squeeze.

That's an interesting one, thanks for the info.

Not familiar with Dundee station unfortunately, though I get what you mean after looking at a layout of the station. One to watch, the paths on the mentioned dates have it going into 3. I suspect it may get replatformed if possible.

Is it normal to get a top and tail on the lowlander? It seems like there's 90049 attached to the back of 1S26 2353 EUS - GLC & EDB. Not sure what's at the front yet, have requested the allocation in the appropriate thread :)

That wasn't expected, 87002 was set to take in the Lowlander stock but your sighting, plus stills on Railcam, confirm 90049 took in the stock and hour late.

90042 should be your lead loco.

That makes sense now, it should've detached now, however when I saw it, it was still chained to the set and wearing a tail lamp at the back. It may be travelling on the back, however it's too late to check now as we're departing.

Sure enough, there are two locos on that set. 90042 leading and 90049 going along for the ride.

Either someone forgot to uncouple 049 and is in for a telling from their bosses, or it's been deliberately left on for some reason. I suspect it may come off at Crewe and go to Basford Hall, but we'll see I guess. No obvious paths for it to come off at Crewe as far as I can tell, so may be going all the way.

Enjoy your trip:)

It will remain on until Carstairs where it will work 1B26 to Edinburgh.

I think 73 966 is getting swapped in tonight as well, can't remember if thats the Aberdeen or Ft William its working.

Thanks for the info. What's happening with 92033 if the 90's doing 1B26 in the morning?

The 47 failed earlier at Polmadie resulting in a shift round of locos up in Scotland, hence the T and T move on 1S26.

Running back to EDB to work 1M16 I think, not 100% sure on that.

Scrap that, the 92 will tie onto the 90 at carstairs in the morning and double head 1B26. They will have a problem running round in the morning at Edinburgh though as P7 cant take load 8 plus a 90 and a 92. The train will get in but after the run round a loco will be sitting foul of the points.

Thanks for the info re the late departure of 5M11.

I see 0D11 (92043 I believe) is running to Edinburgh now, presumably to take M16.

Given 90049 will already be coupled up to the stock for Carstairs - Edinburgh in the morning as you've said, I'd assume this leaves 92033 to do the Glasgow ECS tomorrow?

Ignore the above, just refreshed and saw your edit.

Thanks again for the info:)

Anyone able to recall when 90046 last worked the sleeper?

Thanks for the info @Scotrail84 So to put things in one place....

47749 failed on 5M11, so 92043 was taken off the rear of 5C11 to work 5M11 into Glasgow instead, with 92010 on rear for 1M11 (as planned).

92043 is now working across to Edinburgh on a VSTP 0D11 to take 1M16

92033 was originally going to head out on the front of 5C11 to take 1M16, with 043 on the rear to do the Carstairs portion (1C11/1B26 etc). However, with 043 taken off, 92033 has run round and worked 1C11. 033 will then work 1B26 in the morning (on top of 90049).

Meanwhile down at Wembley, 87002 was all set to take the Lowlander ECS in (5S96) - however with 47749 sitting down and 86401 and 86101 still in Craigentinny, Polmadie is short of an ECS loco. As Willesden already has 92014, 90049 was "surplus" so was run up to Wembley to swap with 87002 (hence 45 min delay to 5S96 coming in) and then 90049 stayed on the back of 1S26 to move it North.

87002 will most likely run in from Wembley/Willesden tomorrow am to work the Lowlander ECS.

I think what then may happen is 92018 ex-1S25 runs across to Glasgow to work the 5S26 ECS drag back to Polmadie.
92033 comes off the front of the double-headed 1B26 and is stabled in EDB for 1M16 tomorrow night, with 90049 running round to take 5B26 ECS back to Polmadie - and this I think solving the issue of the locos fitting in the platform?

Night of 30th/31st October. Worked 1S26 to Glasgow then got taken to Mossend to be switched with 90042 - bit unusual as normally the F/liner 90 swaps are done Crewe Basford Hall/Willesden and vice versa.

It hasn't worked much at all over the past 9 months or more - I don't know if there's anything specific about how it's set up (I think some of them have different sanding equipment?) - but doesn't seem to be a favoured loco for the beds. Aside from 048 which hasn't done any at all (and 041 that's been stored), 046 along with 044 are the least used Skodas on the beds.

It may stem from mid-June when it went on-hire, managed one run North then promptly had a Traction Motor failure leaving Waverley and was dragged off to Mossend not to be seen on the beds again until the shortish spell for a couple of weeks at the end of October.

A wee bit OT, thought it might be the best place to ask in this thread but does anyone on here work with the Sleeper? Wanting to see about booking a certain date and the website isn't adding up... just before I go and phone them. Cheers

Don't think you'll get anyone admitting to that on a public forum mate.

What dates are you trying to book? May be engineering works happening etc.

There is works happening which is the key reason I'm wanting to book, 30th March. The Website suggests going via ECML, but the diagram says otherwise. Was wanting to book a Glasgow fare but they have all vanished (loads the other day). The only ones left are Edinburgh however if the train does stick to the diagram there won't be an Edinburgh service.
