Aye - getting from Willesden to Wembley the long way round!
I think some days it just stays at Wembley and hence isn't in the 0A25 light engine move.

... and about 50 miles from Pitlochry! I've done both routes, in from Pitlochry and out to Blair Atholl. It feels like more than an hour trying to concentrate on the largely single track road and trying to avoid timber trucks, pedestrians, cyclists, other vehicles and not coming off the road due to the annoyingly outstanding scenery. It would be one hell of a rail replacement bus service though :D

FTW and ABN sleepers now back to 3 sleeper coaches each.The Aberdeen coach being a composite. Half first and half Standard.

Well, with the sleepers, it's of course just a case of lowering the second bed to turn it into a Standard. Hence the designation Sleeper Either Class.

Also, I read that the Sleeper is now transporting shellfish from Inverness to London.

Don’t think it’s as straightforward as lowering the second bunk as I’m sure there is no mattress in it when it’s folded up.

Also hasn’t there been shellfish going to London from Inverness for a long time now?

I could be wrong on both counts of course but I seem to remember both having been discussed in the past on here

Shellfish from Inverness to London is a longstanding part of the business and specifically protected in the Franchise Agreement. Slightly reduces bike capacity southbound from Inverness to fit the Langoustine in.

Lovely journey up last night, around 10 minutes late into Glasgow but that was fine by me - on and asleep in my bunk before 11 and awoke at Carstairs. Think that was because I had to walk to coach M which was seemingly in Watford!!

Stuck my head out the window to watch us in the early morning blue light pull away from the Edinburgh section.

1S26 will be formed of 14 coaches, Glasgow portion will only have 6 coaches (4 sleeper cars)

Edit, the train will be formed of 15 coaches. The Glasgow will have 7 but with one locked out of use due to a defect, so still only 6 coaches in use on the Glasgow. Short formations are pre planned for maintenance.

There will be a coach swap for the Ft William tonight too. 9803 will be replacing 9526 at Edinburgh.

Another edit. 1S26 is running with 14. Last minute coach removal at Wembley. Glasgow portion is 6 vice 8

i last went on the sleeper about 40 years ago but looking forward to my 60th Birthday self treat on the sleeper again, mid november, (to include Kyle of Lochalsh & thurso too) - i too am addicted to the thread
