I suppose being turfed off at Upper Tyndrum c.08:00 isn't the worst cancellation experience Sleeper passengers have ever experienced. Not a lot in the way of connecting services, though.

On a vaguely related topic (i.e. last night's Down Highlander 1S25) was 92014 the electric traction on the Euston-Waverley section does anyone know?
TOPS locations suggest it was (92014 showing as being in Edinburgh all today), but I've seen it reported elsewhere it was 018 (which TOPS has still at Willesden TMD where it's been the past couple of weeks). TOPS isn't always right though...

EDIT: seen some photographic evidence since that pretty much confirms it was 92014.

Is 023 in the naughty corner at GBRF at the moment? I passed through Euston this morning and it was on the ECS, passed through Euston this evening (in part to work out where coach X really is) and it was on the Highlander ECS.

Far from it - it's back on full workings having had two months in the naughty corner (including a couple of weeks in the very naughty corner in Loughborough, lots of testing with 92028 and a week of hard labour with the Dagenham/Garston cars).

It's doing the Lowlander at the moment, but that means it's also the ECS loco for the Highlander at Euston.

This morning it brought 1M11 into Euston from Glasgow, was left on the blocks when 86101 took the ECS away, then ran round onto the top of the highlander (1M16) which had arrived by then to take it and 92033 (still attached at the London end) back to Wembley.

Reverse happened this evening - 92023 brought in the Highlander stock; 033 (I believe) ran down from Willesden on to the top of it and took it away (1S25). 92023 (detached and left on the blocks) then ran round onto top of the Lowlander stock (brought in by another loco - probably 86101 again, but not checked...); and finally it took 1s26 North...

This is how it happens 99% of the time at Euston, i.e. the Lowlander loco also does the Highlander ECS (both am and pm).

So what happened to the train ? I can not see any ECS movements for it going to Fort William for tonight's departure to Euston ?

37 ran to corrour to cross the sprinter, fitter had got the 73 going again by the time the sprinter had left rannoch. 73 then worked forward and was going to collect the 37 en route but I believe it ran through solo, likely due to the further time loss with the points failure at rannoch

*Edit* the 37 did indeed hook on the front at Corrour and work train forward, apologies for the error

Looks like passengers on 1S26 (Lowlander north) tonight will be treated to Triple Grey 92044 (as has taken the Highlander ECS in).

I believe there's two Freightliner 90s at Willesden currently, and possibly an additional 92 (although that may be in for repair/exam) - so interesting they're using 'unmodified' 92044.

Happened a few times recently that it's had a run out and back to Scotland in between China Clay/Tunnel workings. Not sure if there's an operational benefit/reason for this, or because the drivers prefer this one?? ;)

Can anyone tell me what locos were working on last Mon night/Tues morning (10/11 Jul)? I was at Edinburgh Park and saw a 73 on the Fort William portion and a 67 on the Inverness portion but it was too dark to see the numbers from my hotel room window. Thanks!

Pretty sure it didn't run.
92032 at least has been kept busy this last week or two working for DB though. Not sure about 044. Maybe the Sleeper run is to give it a good run out before it has best part of 2,000 tonnes strapped to it?

67 = 67018 Keith Heller (DB Red one with the big maple leaf)
73 = 73970 (on Ft William that night)

92010 brought in the northbound Lowlander to Edinburgh Waverley this morning then ran round from Platform 9E through Platform 8 to hitch back on for the ECS move to Polmadie.
92014 was stabled opposite Platform 7 presumably having worked the northbound Highlander.
Pics in the usual place at the link below - apologies if some look similar but I couldn't decide which ones to keep!

Regarding the post above, I captured 67 018 working south light loco at Markinch a few weeks back. At that time she was on a move for Virgin Trains.

Nice shots. Yes, 92014 worked the northbound Highlander (1S25)

Looks like we have a Dellner-fitted 73/9 out and about .....

73971 Not mine.

Yep - fgwrich was first on the case on 30th June - see post #3974 http://www.railforums.co.uk/showpost.php?p=3040274&postcount=3974

...and shared some photos of it without the covering over the new coupling in this post (which just happened to be post #4000 on this thread!) You get a reasonably decent look at it (albeit in folded-away position) in the second photo:

http://www.railforums.co.uk/showpost.php?p=3040682&postcount=4000

73966 headed to Brush last week (10th July - the day after 73971 returned north) so suspect it's going in to get its fitted.

73967 and 969 are in Loughborough too, but have been for a while - 969 after its collision damage in Dec 2016 and 967 after a failure or two a couple of months back, but would make sense if they fit the Dellner couplings to those whilst they're there. Not sure which 92 will get one first. 92038 is in currently along with 043, so possible candidates.

I'm going to be on the Caledonian Sleeper from Preston to Aberdeen for the first time in September, albeit seated.

If I'm awake in Edinburgh, is there much chance the train crew would let me get out, stretch my legs, and maybe watch the train split + watch the new locomotives join? How long does it take at Edinburgh? Also, as I've got a couple of hours of waiting at Preston before I catch it, is there much chance of a cup of tea once i get on the train?

This is not the norm but should not be a problem providing you stay well clear of the drivers, guards and shunters doing their jobs.

Whole process takes around 30-40 minutes to complete, the Aberdeen portion is booked to leave Edinburgh at 04:43 but it can leave as soon as its ready and does not always stick to the times as its set down only North of Edinburgh. If you get out then proceed to miss it then its your tough luck.

Yes, the Aberdeen lounge car next to the seats will be open for a cup of tea/coffee to take back to your seat if you want one (seated passengers may not sit in the lounge car, theres a hatch service for them to take away).

Can someone please tell me what these 2 CS workings are for next Monday please ...
http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/C73370/2017/07/24/advanced

and the return ..http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/C73376/2017/07/24/advanced

Just out of curiosity, thanks

I've noticed them in last couple of weeks, but (AFAIK) they've as yet never run. Not sure what the purpose is for them. Not entirely sure what ECS moves are required to Lancaster from Polmadie (or vice versa) for CS? I'm half wondering if it's been allocated against the wrong TOC somehow...??

Unless someone in Lancaster is going to start fixing Sleeper coaches - they're done in/around Glasgow currently (Springburn Works), though, which makes a lot more sense.

Down Inverness still at Euston, broken skoda...

Yep, 90047 failed (only came down from Basford Hall today to replace 044 that was due an exam).

86101 just arrived at Euston (having been taken off 5S96 Lowlander ECS move) to take 1S25 to Waverley.

Another loco (TBC) has left Willesden to take 5S96 in.

Happy days for passengers on 1S25 who like classic 86 traction over tatty grey Freightliners...!

Looks like another pantomine for 1S25 tonight :(

On its way 46L - suspect it'll have made that up well before Waverley (assuming no other issues befall it) - probably by Crewe...
Been over a month since the last Euston loco hokey-cokey on 1S25, been fairly uneventful (traction-wise at least) last few weeks.

92032 reported as the sub Lowlander ECS loco (5S96).
