On a related note: what news of the 73s? Are they all in service now? I've not managed to clock any of them at Waverley. I was curious as I always thought the Edinburgh binliner is worked using one of the sleeper locos and that is still hauled by a 67.

I think 73971 is still at Loughborough, with the other five in service.

As of May / June this year when the GB > DB contract finished, none of the 67s should be working the Caley Sleeper anymore - you would have seen ex Chiltern 67010 though, the only one repainted temporarily for the launch which like many over DB locos, is still running around in a previous livery (I.e, EWS, First ScotRail class 90s etc).

As far as I'm aware of, they're doing rather well. A few minor tweaks and issues which are being sorted one by one at BRUSH - hence the use of 66 + 73 combinations, but they seem to be doing fine!

Not sure if anyone here can help but I was travelling on the euro tunnel train on Thursday morning 25/08 and passed Coquelles at about 04:30 and noticed on the right hand side in direction of travel in the yard there a caledonian livery 92.
I thought it looked like 92006 but not sure, is anyone able to confirm this?

Wouldn't be 92006, that's still in EPS livery.

No worries. I had my first trip on the Serco-run sleeper behind it in April 2015 before the 92s went on their "sabbatical". Remember being somewhat disappointed that it was a drab grey one. 92033 hauled my next trip, though, so all was well in the end

Apparently to the Platform 5 Locomotives 2016 book I have recently acquired, I noticed 92028 was listed as in 'GB' livery. I wanted to question this as I have never seen it in this livery, but right when I was about to email them I found this on Flickr:

This shows 92028 is now in GBRf livery, making 92032 not the only 92 in GBRf colours now! I wonder if it has returned to service? If not, why would it be repainted?

Really? Do you know when it was returned from Loughborough? I've never seen it, probably because it's based inside 'Fort' Dollands Moor and locked onto chunnel operations... Will it be another sleeper loco or is it going to be based in the freight pool?

Being fussy, 028 is in a 'pukka' GBRf colour scheme. 032 has a 'unique' livery that still has the Channel Tunnel roundels and Europorte logos. Apart from that, they're the same!

You've probably never seen it for for you haven't been to Loughborough where its been for many months and it is still there

Two Caledonian 92s were parked up in the carriage sidings just south of Crewe at c8.30am this morning. One was 92023 and the other one I think was 92038 but not 100% sure. They'd gone by lunchtime.

Which was exactly what 92014 operated when it returned from it's traction motor overhaul at Loughborough over the Summer.

Indeed, returning from it's traction motor overhaul. 92014 is also out of use on the sleepers too at the moment, it's just had one of it's big yearly maintenance checks completed and needs to be throroughly tested before returning into traffic.

That's the least of their worries, it's other monitoring equipment that has seen changes.

Has 023 been "fixed" too? Wasn't aware it'd been in, but they were *supposed* to be sorting them all by the end of the year.
